The Good and Constant Noise of the Little Ones: Global Resistance in Times of War and Silence of the Big Ones

By Dito Impolverato

In a historical moment marked by the escalation of violence and the criminal inaction of global powers, we have never seen so many anti-fascist and anti-war demonstrations since the Vietnam War. On the streets of the entire world, ordinary people raise their voices against the genocide in Gaza, the war in Ukraine and the imperialist attacks on Iran. Meanwhile, the great artists, intellectuals and celebrities who occupy spaces of cultural privilege remain in complicit silence, as if neutrality were possible in the face of extermination.

This silence is not innocent. It sustains the **false peace** of a system that profits from death. The same people who condemn violence "on both sides" are incapable of naming what is happening: a colonial project of domination, where the United States, Israel and NATO act as war machines, financed by neoliberal capitalism. The so-called "ceasefire" is a macabre joke, as it is nothing more than a strategic pause for rearmament, while civilians continue to be massacred.

Trump and NATO have already made it clear that they will spare no effort to **escalate the conflict**, transforming the Middle East into an eternal battlefield. The arms industry celebrates, the bankers profit, and the people pay in blood. Meanwhile, the corporate media reproduces the narrative of the oppressors, criminalizing Palestinian resistance and selling the war as a "defense against terror".

The recent attack on Iranian territory, led by Israel and supported by the US, reveals the imperialist obsession with controlling the Middle East. Iran, like Palestine, is targeted not because it is a threat, but because it refuses to bow to US interests. Meanwhile, China and Russia watch, calculating their moves on an increasingly unstable geopolitical chessboard.

Technology, which should serve human progress, is used to **perfect the killing**. State-of-the-art drones, "smart" bombs and missiles are not finding terrorists, only children, the elderly and entire families buried under the rubble. The same people who dropped atomic bombs in the past are now dressed as champions of democracy, while the UN watches helplessly as the carnage unfolds.

The G7, in its hypocrisy, **legitimizes war** by calling Israel's attacks the "right to defense". In other words: a nuclear-armed state can bomb another country, but when Iran defends itself, it becomes a "global threat". This perverse logic only reinforces the imperial hierarchy, where the Global North dictates the rules and the South suffers the consequences.

We are facing the cruelest face of capitalism: a system that feeds on death, but hides behind banners such as "freedom" and "security". Deep down, it is the same project of white supremacy, economic domination and the extermination of peoples.

But there is a **good and constant noise** coming from the streets. Students, workers, anti-racist collectives and anarchist organizations are rising up. International solidarity is growing stronger, showing that even in the face of barbarity, resistance never goes silent.

We anarchists are not content with indignation. We fight for a **new world**, where oppressed peoples are free and war between states no longer means the death of those below.

*(Signed by anarchist organizations from Latin America and international allies.)* This article reflects the urgency of the global mobilization against war and the complicit silence of the elites. Your newspaper has the opportunity to amplify voices that the traditional media tries to silence.

Enough Genocide! Free Palestine! Down with Imperialism!

Identitarianism as a barrier to understanding complex reality

By Dito Impolverato

In an increasingly fragmented world, Identitarianism emerges as a force that, although often well-meaning, ends up simplifying the complexity of social relations. By reducing historical contradictions to issues of race, gender or sexuality, it obscures the economic and political structures that perpetuate oppression. The morality imposed by this view, often aligned with imperialist discourses, diverts the focus of class struggle, transforming structural conflicts into individual or cultural disputes.

BRING IT ON

by @literallynft

Leftists love guns too, you pussyfoot rapscallion.

Imperialism, since its origins, knew how to manipulate identity divisions to maintain its domain. The strategy of "dividing to govern" fragmented revolutionary movements, transforming potential allies into opponents. When social struggle is reduced to a competition for identity recognition, the ability to see the common enemy is lost: the capitalist system that explores both the white and black worker, both the working woman and the proletarian man.

Identity morality, often imported from global agendas, ignores local particularities. Peripheral countries, such as Brazil, see their social struggles are co -opted by narratives that do not reflect their material realities. While hunger and unemployment plague millions, superficially moralistic debates occupy the center of the stage, preventing a deeper analysis of the structural causes of inequality.

The left, once focused on the radical transformation of society, is now divided between identity guidelines. This division weakens any possibility of union between exploited. When workers are taught to see each other as oppressors instead of comrades of struggle, class solidarity fades, and capitalism remains untouched.

Reality is causal and multidimensional: exploration is not just about identity, but by production relations. A poor worker, whether he is man or woman, black or white, suffers the same deprivations imposed by the system. Reducing its oppression to an identity issue is to deny the depth of economic domination that chokes it. True emancipation will only come when the fights are articulated around what really unites the oppressed: their material condition.

If we want to break with the ties of imperialism and capital, we need to rescue a perspective of struggle that goes beyond identitarianism. This does not mean denying specific oppressions, but integrating them with a broader analysis that recognizes the system as the true enemy. Only then will we build a movement capable of transforming reality, not just to perform convenient moralisms to the current power.

The complexity of social life requires an equally complex look. If we limit ourselves to identity categories, we will lose the chance to see the true roots of oppression. The struggle for justice must be collective, transverse and, above all, anticapitalist otherwise it will be just another tool of disguised domination of liberation.

How the Ethereum layers and solutions like Segwit reduce thermodynamic friction and optimize scalability

By Dito Impolverato

The evolution of blockchains has been marked by the search for solutions that reduce thermodynamic friction - the inherent energy waste of decentralized systems - while improving scalability. Ethereum, as a pioneer on this journey, has been structured in layers (Layer 1, Layer 2 and, more recently, Layer 3) to balance safety, decentralization and efficiency.

Ethereum Layer 1 (L1) is the main blockchain, responsible for safety and consensus, but historically limited by low transaction rate (TPS) and high energy cost. The Bitcoin Proof-of-Work (Pow) required enormous computational power, generating high thermodynamic friction. With the migration to the Proof-of-Stake (POS) in Ethereum 2.0, energy consumption fell dramatically, but scalability still depended on additional solutions.

Layer 2 (L2) solutions, such as Rollups (Optimistic and ZK-Rollups), process transactions outside the main chain, adding them before registering them in L1. This reduces direct computational load, reducing energy consumption per transaction and increasing the Throughput to thousands of TPs. Networks such as arbitum and optimize exemplify how L2 optimizes thermodynamic friction by decentralizing processing without compromising the safety of the base Ethereum.

Emerging as a third layer, the L3 focuses on specific applications (such as gaming or defi), further personalizing efficiency. By anchoring in L2S, these networks reduce computational redundancy, cutting operating costs and energy spent by transaction. This layer hierarchy creates an ecosystem where decentralization is not synonymous with energy inefficiency.

Bitcoin, despite being the safest blockchain, suffers from scalability limitations due to its conservative design. Segwit's segregated Witness, implemented in 2017, was one of the first optimizations, increasing block capacity by separating digital signatures. This has reduced the size of the transactions and, consequently, the hashrata needed to process them, improving thermodynamic efficiency without sacrificing decentralization.

Blockchains such as Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash emerged as faster alternatives, but it was the adoption of techniques such as Segwit and later Lightning Network (an L2 for Bitcoin) that showed how it is possible to balance speed and energy consumption. Lightning, for example, allows almost instant micropagags with the main chain operating cost, demonstrating that the layer hierarchy is a viable path to bitcoin.

Ethereum's multicam model and Bitcoin adaptations prove that scalability need not come at the expense of decentralization or the planet. By distributing the computational load between specialized layers, blockchains minimize thermodynamic friction - each transaction consumes less aggregate energy when processed in L2s or L3S rather than overloading the base.

Layer innovation is redefining the future of blockchains. Ethereum, with his L2/L3 ecosystem, and Bitcoin, with segwit and lightning, show that it is possible to reconcile decentralization, safety and energy efficiency. As new networks come up with a more optimized hashrata, the sector advances to a paradigm where sustainability and scalability go together, reducing global operational cost and environmental impact.
