PERFORMANCE CANVAS FINANCIALS IMPLEMENTATION

The actual installation of PCF takes 5 minutes but for it to be completely implemented, it takes anywhere between 5-90 days depending on what needs to be implemented, the availability of staff resources on the customer´s side, the complexities of the internal process and approval authorities on the client´s side.

The implementation of performance canvas financials is finance team led, not IT team led. The IT team is only needed for the initial install process and some required testing. The majority of the setup will be led by the team expected to know and use it the most – the finance team.

HISTORY

DSPanel AB, founded in 1999 in Scandinavia, marketed Microsoft Office-based Enterprise Performance Management and business intelligence software. Presently, DSPanel continues to provide software and partner with other companies from different sectors such as Hospitality and Entertainment, Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Services, Health care. DSPanel also collaborates with original equipment manufacturers to attain a wider reach of its products - Epicor, Cadeia, Évry, and STC.

In 1999, the first product DSP Outlook Edition was developed. Today it is still being used by over 800 customers worldwide and the newer versions of Performance Canvas products are primarily used by OEMs that embed it in their products.

In 2007, DSPanel launched a new generation of tools under the name “Performance Canvas” where the information worker is now mobile and the technology utilized is pervasive and diverse with the Microsoft BI stack enhanced.

This generation of Performance Canvas products removed the Microsoft SharePoint requirement and broadened support for data sources to include IBM Cubing Services, SAP Business Warehouse, and relational data sources from various vendors.

In 2013, DSPanel focused on providing Financial Enterprise Performance Management including budgets, forecasts, reports, as well as Key Performance Indicators.

In 2014, DSPanel offered a series of Performance Canvas products such as:

  • pcMobile - for dashboards, scorecards, metrics management
  • pcFinancials - Microsoft based Planning, Budgeting, Reporting, and Consolidating tool.
  • pcLegal - for advanced consolidation
  • Portal Edition - legacy BI product
  • EFP - sold by Epicor for budgeting and planning

In 2015 - Significant changes were introduced to their pcFinancials product. AR/AP modules may now also be added on top of its pre-built planning, budgeting, and reporting tool.

In 2019 - DSPanel introduced a more modern and cutting edge FP&A solution in the cloud called Performance Canvas Financials or PCF. PCF is a subscription-based product that currently offers a unified web/browser and Excel solution for financial reporting, budgeting and planning, KPI management, and consolidation.

PCF is an FP&A subscription service for small to large organizations wanting to increase efficiencies and boost transparency and accountability within their FP&A process. PCF is most ideal for mid-sized companies that have moderately complex to highly complex FP&A requirements.
