It was subordinated to Bilozirya village council till 1985.
Until 18 July 2020, Irdynivka was subordinated to Smila city council. At the time, Smila was incorporated as the town of oblast significance and did not belong to any raion. In July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Cherkasy Oblast to four, the town of Smila was merged into Cherkasy Raion.[3][4]
